A real sense of connection between Japan and Taiwan. People from different fields gathered in one place, creating bonds that sightseeing alone could never reach.

Engaging with local people and stepping one layer deeper into the country. The first gathering gave us a real sense of creating a shared space between Japan and Taiwan, not something completed on the Japanese side alone.

Highlights

What we did

01

City experience

Exploring Taipei's signature areas, from Taipei 101 to Dadaocheng and Dihua Street. With a meal at Din Tai Fung and evenings out in the city, it was time spent walking the streets and feeling the everyday rhythm of Taipei, not just its sights.

02

Cultural visits

Visits to the Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei, the Taipei Bottle Cap Factory and Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, hubs of art, culture and the creative industries. From historic streetscapes to old buildings and industrial sites reborn as places for culture and business, a broad look at Taiwan's history and how its cities are being shaped today.

03

Local exchange

Around 40 people, mainly entrepreneurs and business professionals of the same generation from Japan and Taiwan, gathered for an exchange session sharing each country's business environment and current trends. Discussions across fields and borders revealed each other's ways of thinking and values, and opened the way to new connections afterwards.

04

Dinners

A big banquet with Taiwanese friends, opened with a toast to Japan–Taiwan friendship. Sharing the same table beyond titles and positions, connections deepened naturally over food and drinks. The members from Japan also set aside time to eat together, and talking in an unfamiliar setting brought the participants closer to one another.
